Visual Studio: Default Settings

We have many developers here using MSVC 2008, and I want to standardize Visual Studio settings and project settings.

In particular, I want:

1) All settings in Tools → Options will be the same (especially the settings of the tab!)

2) We have a source repository where we have a shared folder. The shared folder has header files / code that we reuse in several solutions (.sln) developed by different people. I want all new VC projects to automatically include (/ I) directories and link to a shared .lib / dll in this shared folder. (Note: this process has become so irreversibly time-consuming when every time we create a new solution, we have to re-enter these include / lib names again and again)

Can someone please save us and point us to the right solution?

For # 1, you can easily configure one Visual Studio environment, and then use the import / export settings (in the Tools menu) to save the settings file, which can be loaded into each environment.

For # 2, you can try creating a project template so that whenever someone creates a new project, they can use this template and it will include these elements automatically.
