I use the plugin with a Cordova screen saver ( https://github.com/apache/cordova-plugin-splashscreen ) in my hybrid mobile app designed for iOS. I have all the screensaver images added to my project as shown below:
The reason for using this plugin is to lengthen the time during which the splash screen is displayed, and I will manually hide it later in the application. Therefore, my config.xml has the following declarations:
<preference name="AutoHideSplashScreen" value="false" /> <preference name="ShowSplashScreenSpinner" value="false"/>
This plugin works great in portrait mode on iPhone and iPad. But on the iPad in landscape mode, the plugin displays a pop-up image in portrait mode, and so my first view of the application also appears in portrait mode, even if the device is in landscape mode. The screenshot below shows the splash screen and a black blank area under it when the iPad is in landscape mode.
