I am creating a streaming application and want to use the Spotify iOS SDK for streaming. But Spotify services are not available in India. I have a premium Spotify account (in the USA). Development will take place in India. My question is: can I use the Spotify iOS SDK in India using a premium account in the USA without any proxy network?

My answer: I just read (parts) of the developer’s terms in the Spotify SDK. I noticed one thing:

Streams through the Spotify platform should be available only to Premium Spotify subscribers.

So, if I am right, it is only possible to play Spotify music, if your users have a Premium Spotify account, which is currently not available in India, everything is there. However, you can use the iOS SDK in India, but this eliminates the ability to broadcast (preview) the sound to users who are not premix.

As far as I know, this is the country of the account, not the user's location, which is used to determine if the user can access Spotify. In other words, with your US Premium account, you can use Spotify wherever you are in the world while you continue to pay for your subscription. More on this topic .

You should be able to use your account when developing your application. Of course, a user trying to create a Spotify account from India will see the message “Spotify is not available in your country” when trying to register, but users accessing countries where Spotify are available will not have any problems registering and log in your application.

Three easy steps:

  1. Download any VPN application from the App Store, i.e. VPN 24 .
  2. Go to the App Store account, change your region and country to the USA by filling in any approximate address.
  3. Now find Spotify Music in the App Store and download it!
