Many Google Analytics accounts seem to have spam. Many events have been posted as shown below:
EVENT CATEGORY: use this function: EVENT-TRACKING.COM
Now for the Internet, I can add a filter to block by hostname. Not perfect, but doable.
But what about mobile? I have an application that I have not yet released, but I receive these spam events. Thus, these guys do not crawl sites and do not send spam, they actually just guess the Google Analytics account numbers and use the API.
Is there anything you can do about this?
It seems to me that Google Analytics needs to start using API keys for mobile applications. At least the spammer would have to download your application and decompile it before they could spam you.
