Android Studio, Gradle: Initialize Build Never Ends

Please help, I'm going crazy with this problem I have with Gradle.

When using Android Studio 1.2.1.1, Gradle continues to sit there, saying " Initialize assembly "

I heard that it might take some time to finish, so I left it at 7 o’clock at night with still no joy.

This stops me from creating in the IDE.

I cleared the .gradle folder from the users directory and ran Android Studio as an administrator and still did not work.

Oh, typing gradlew build on the command line works fine.

I ran into the same problems with IntelliJ 14 and 15. Never ending assembly initialization. Perhaps this is not an IDE issue, but a gradle setup. See where you have the .gradle folder (usually in your home directory. I recommend deleting everything there, especially the cache.

  • it would be nice to see what your assembly looks like
  • what version of gradle do you have etc.
