Edit the same ipython laptop in two tabs at the same time

Question

As my ipython laptops get bigger, more and more I want to quickly move between two partitions. Since there is no split window, is there a way to edit the same notepad on two browser tabs at the same time? It seems naive that you need to restart the laptop in the second window after making changes to the first.

I would also be interested in any general suggestions for the workflow, thanks!

This is not an ideal solution, but I use section headings and floating tables to go to different sections. It's nice that this encourages me to make headlines, although it is not very effective. I am using the MinRK extension to do TOC ( here ).

If you want to go along the TOC route, you should look at How to add a table of contents to the question about ipython notebook? . The answers there (currently) offer either the MinRK extension for the laptop, as I use, or a simple browser extension that can generate TOC for any web page.
