MySQL Workbench: No Objects Selected

Question

I installed MySQL Workbench in my machine. But now I can not select the table on the left side. Here is what I have:

How can I get tables in my database?

Keep track of which area you are in MySQL Workbench. You currently have an active admin section. Use tabs to go to SQL section to view your db objects:

By the way, the screenshot looks strange. This No Objects field is selected from the SQL section, but shown (too large) as an overlay on some parts of the section of the admin sidebar. Everything that you did to get to this state is really interesting. If you often see this, I recommend that you write an error report with all the necessary information (you are omitted here), for example, in the OS, WB version, etc.

Perhaps you can solve this without using combined mode for admin + sql partitions. If you disable this (anyway, I recommend), you will get two tabs, as shown in my screenshots. To do this, go to the settings and turn off the combined mode (the last parameter in this screenshot):

Also, make sure you have the latest version of MySQL Workbench installed (atm. 6.3.3).

drag the scroll bar down. I had the same problem, but all I had to do was expand the navigation menu.

The configuration setting worked for me:

Edit → Settings → SQL Editor → Sidebar → Combined management tools and schema tree (not selected)

This allows the “Control” and “Schema” navigation tabs in the sidebar.
