Is there a way to use Windows indexer information in Java?

I want to create a scanner program that searches for a file system and indexes files. [This will be used later, but the main thing is to focus on it now.

I wonder if there is a way to use the Windows indexer [which already has some kind of index] for my use instead of running files that can take quite a while?

Thanks.

According to https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee805985(v=vs.85).aspx , the window indexing service is no longer supported and encourages anyone interested in doing client-side searches to use Windows Search SDK https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa965362(v=vs.85).aspx
