Sql developer freezes at startup - what can I do?

Currently I can not start it (SQL Developer 4.1) because it freezes when starting the "Restore Editors". I suppose I did this by exiting it earlier, killing the sql development process, because it was hanged while picking objects in Schema Browser for so long ... Maybe I would clear some temporary files, but could not find them. Any ideas?

Based on this topic https://community.oracle.com/thread/2564842 I created my own solution.

  • Extract installation of the current version of SQL Developer ( 4.1.0.17.29 )
  • In "c: \ Users \ MY_USER \ AppData \ Roaming \ SQL Developer \" I changed the name of the system4.1.0.17.29 directory to system4.1.0.17.28.
  • After starting the recently extracted SQL Developer ( 4.1.0.17.29 ), I was asked to copy the configuration from version 4.1.0.17.28 to 4.1. 0.17.29 ;)
  • Everything works perfectly. I believe that starting the same (broken) installation after smoothing the version can also help.

Removing files from c: \ Users \ MY_USER \ AppData \ Roaming \ SQL Developer \ SQL History and c: \ Users \ MY_USER \ AppData \ Roaming \ SQL Developer \ System ... Really helped me solve the connection problems.

Just run sqldeveloper as administrator. It works great!

Delete the folders c: \ Users \ USERNAME \ AppData \ Roaming \ SQL Developer \ system4.1.3.20.78 \ system_cache *. SQLDeveloper recreates it after launch.

In my case, when I changed Tools --> Preferences --> Environment -> Look and Feel on Windows , it is resolved.

In my case, the problem was related to the Windows compatibility issue. So I selected my version of Windows and stopped after a random crash after starting enter image description here
