VS2015 installation is constantly hanging

I am trying to install vs2015 CTP5 on a fully updated Windows 8.1, and the installation continues to hang (for an hour or so) at the LocalSPCui stage for EN-Dev.12.

I use .iso mounted using PowerISO, how can I finish the installation?

The installation never worked and was always saved at one point.

Tried the following things:

  • Run .msi for the package .. → does not work
  • Uninstall VS2013 that was installed at that time -> did not work
  • Tried loading .iso from msdn library -> didn't work
  • I tried the web installer -> did not work
  • Try to remove all registry keys associated with Visual Studio -> it does not work
  • Reinstalled Windows 8.1 and running the web installer -> Successfully

It starts without any problems.

If the installer asks you to specify the location of the package, you can download the ISO, mount it (using WinCDEmu or the like), and then point the installer to <drive>:\packages\EspC . This allowed the installation to continue in my case (VS2015 Update 3).
