Vagrant guest machine has entered an invalid state

I am trying to configure bosh-lite (to install a local local environment locally) on an ubuntu server (vagrant v1.6.3, Virtualbox 4.3.20r96996). Installation does not work when the firewall tries to boot the created computer with the following error:

$ cd bosh-lite $ vagrant up Bringing machine 'default' up with 'virtualbox' provider... ==> default: Checking if box 'cloudfoundry/bosh-lite' is up to date... ==> default: Clearing any previously set forwarded ports... ==> default: Clearing any previously set network interfaces... ==> default: Preparing network interfaces based on configuration... default: Adapter 1: nat default: Adapter 2: hostonly ==> default: Forwarding ports... default: 22 => 2222 (adapter 1) ==> default: Running 'pre-boot' VM customizations... ==> default: Booting VM... ==> default: Waiting for machine to boot. This may take a few minutes... The guest machine entered an invalid state while waiting for it to boot. Valid states are 'starting, running'. The machine is in the 'poweroff' state. Please verify everything is configured properly and try again. If the provider you're using has a GUI that comes with it, it is often helpful to open that and watch the machine, since the GUI often has more helpful error messages than Vagrant can retrieve. For example, if you're using VirtualBox, run `vagrant up` while the VirtualBox GUI is open.

I got this error after using vagrant up on cmd after an unplanned hard shutdown of my system running multiple instances of virtual mailboxes, including headless Vagrant (especially VVV) for my Wordpress development.

It was decided by the vagrant reload team.

Several WordPress developer sites are now up and running.

Go to the BIOS setup of your computer. Then enable hardware virtualization.
