Lollipop device does not open in genymotion

I am using Android studio 1.0.1 . Using Genymotion + virtual box (2.3.1) . I downloaded a nexus 4 device (Android Lollipop). Whenever I try to open the device, it appears on the screen, shows β€œandroid” and remains in the same position. He never opens. I tried with nexus 7 and even with a user device. This only happens for Lollipop devices, other devices such as KitKat work very well.

Update Genymotion and VirtualBox to the latest version, and then uninstall and reinstall the API 5.0.1 for Android 5.0.1 in your Android SDK manager. This work is for me.

I installed Google Nexus 7 - 5.0.0 API 21 - 800x1280

If you have problems with gapps and drag and drop to Genymotion, check this answer install GApps and ARM Support ZIP without dragging

If you follow all the steps, you should work.

Update your gennymotion and find devices with API 21. I am using Nexus 6 with Lollipop. There is no problem with this. Try Nexus 6

Problem

Once I upgraded to Genymotion 2.3.1, Lollipop devices will no longer boot (Android logo β†’ black screen).

Decision

I solved this problem by clearing the Genymotion cache:

Genymotion -> Settings -> Misc -> Clear cache

After clearing the cache, I added a new Nexus 5 emulator (API 21) and it booted fine.

Notes:

  • I did not have this problem with Genymotion 2.3.0
  • Removing the Nexus 5 emulator and adding it back did not solve the problem.
