Why doesn't the Chrome developer tool show WhatsApp web application requests?

Today I use the new WhatsApp web application and try to find out which libraries they use and how they communicate with the server.

I opened the Chrome developer tool and then tried some actions in the user interface. But no requests are displayed in the Chrome Developer Tool.

Why didn’t I see any requests (both HTTP and WebSocket requests)?

You need to open the Google Chrome Inspector before opening the WebSocket connection. Then, as @Hernan pointed out, you go to the network → websockets, select a connection with 101 status, and on the frames tab you will see messages. But you need to switch from “Frames” to the “Headers” tab and come back again so that Chrome updates the frames.

If you send messages with the Frame tab open, they will not be updated automatically. If you open the Chrome inspector after the WebSocket connection is established, you will not see the connection.

Whatsapp network uses websocket. go into check mode -> network -> websockets

In any case, I still doubt it, because the message is not visible there.
