Does anyone know what causes this error or what is related?

As the error is mentioned, you should add the name 'tad-server' file metadata.rb to this cooking. This was not necessary in the past days, so many people did not put metadata.rb in their cookbooks at all, but some tools now require this at least. All other fields in the metadata remain optional, although version recommended.

You need to add your cookbook name to the metadata.rb file inside the cookbook directory. I just came across this with the cook chef cookbook. Download error until I added the following line to chef-client / metadata.rb

 name "chef-client"
