Using a tornado to feed large files

We need to use Tornado to work with large files (several GB) that require authentication. From what we can say, doing it with get and splitting files with Task will be potentially slow or blocking. Is there a recommended method for serving large files requiring authentication?

I think this is the best solution. Please note that this is a combination of tornado and nginx.
