AWS EC2 email restriction when using a third-party SMTP server

Are there any restrictions on the number of emails that I can send from EC2 instances when I use a third-party SMTP server to send email? I am using an EC2 instance to invoke an SMTP client server.

Thanks Santhosh

Yes, if you connect to a third-party server through TCP port 25, there is a restriction imposed by the EC2 infrastructure as a spam protection measure.

You can request the removal of this restriction, or the simplest and possibly the most correct solution, connect to the server on port 587 (SMTP-MSA) instead of 25 (SMTP-MTA). (A third-party mail server should support it if they really did not pay attention for several years.)

See http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_Mail_Transfer_Protocol

Or, using SSL will be even better.

If you do not connect to a third-party server on port 25, then there are absolutely no restrictions.

https://aws-portal.amazon.com/gp/aws/html-forms-controller/contactus/ec2-email-limit-rdns-request ... this is the form you can use if you want to request block deletion 25 port, but it also requires you to set reverse dns in order to take additional responsibility for the remote restriction on port 25 if you want to use this route.
