How to make an instance of Phabricator open?

I played around a bit with Config settings and searched for documents, but could not find information about this.

Phamility's own instance of Phabricator works this way (and I also saw other installations), so I assume that there should be a relatively simple way to configure it, but have not found it.

In particular:

  • How do I get an instance of Phabricator to switch to the default control panel, and not to login for anonymous users accessing the site?
  • How to set default visibility of tasks to "Public", and not to "All users"?

Edit: resolved a problem from the control panel that does not appear - apparently the settings of any individual toolbar panel overrides the control panel settings.

To clarify: if one toolbar panel is set to a higher restriction (for example, "All Users" instead of "Publish") than the dashboard itself, the panel restrictions overlap the restrictions set on the control panel.

How to show the control panel by default, and not the login window, for anonymous users

  • Go to "Configuration"
  • Go to the "Policy"
  • Go to "policy.allow-public"
  • Set Allow Public Visibility
  • Click "Save Configuration Entry"

NOTE. After you have installed Public Dashboard, you will need to make sure that all panels in this panel have public visibility.

How to set default visibility for tasks to "Public" rather than "All users"

  • Go to "Applications"
  • Click the gear icon next to the "Manifest" (in new versions, the gear icon has been replaced with the "Customize" button.)
  • Click "Edit Policies"
  • Set desired defaults
  • Click Save Policies
