Nowadays, especially after this post and other similar Internet resources, I think most people have figured out how easy it is to win the Game of Gabriele Cirulli 2048 : even manually, following simple rules, achieving 2048 is not a problem.
However, losing in this game seems a lot harder than winning! As far as I try, the minimum tile that I have received so far was 16. It seems to me that losing depends on the chance much more than winning. Is there any strategy that can guarantee losing over 8 without plates?
(Of course, some of the tips suggested here can help, for example, calculate all the possible steps for steps n and choose a combination of moves that maximizes the chance of getting tiles stuck and ending the game. But is there a more logical principle to get this?)
In the happiest case, you will alternate between 2s and 4s; alternating 2s, 4s, and 8s should be simpler. In fact, I just did it with five eights, seven four and four two.
