Android Material Design

Does the new version of Android Material Design support the old version of Android, such as 3.0 or 2.1? if he supports, what would he look like? like real material design or like old design? I'm going to update my material design app, so is there anyone who has already done this?

As for material design as a concept, yes, you can do it all today. Some of them will require much more work on your part (for example, imitating the new recommendations for developing an action bar), while some parts are much simpler (for example, new recommendations for the interval and color of the content).

There are also some libraries to help you with this. There are many third-party libraries that support the concept of “maps,” such as the “Maps Interface for Android” and Cardslilb , and there is a library for the Floating Action Button .

As for the topic "Material", more or less automatically creating your application "Material", no, now there is no support for the support library. What you see on the market at the moment is basically done from scratch. I recommended saving until Android L is officially released. New versions of the support libraries will include support for at least some of these features ( for example, CardView ).

You can use the v7 Appcompat library and the Design Support Library to support material design on Android versions prior to Lollipop.
