Does IntelliJ IDEA terminal bring its own colors from the system?

I will configure my IDE to use the installed Git - Bash. Unfortunately, both terminals (the default for Windows CMD and Git is bash sh.exe) have a blue background color. I have already changed the colors in the system terminal windows. I also tried changing colors in (IntelliJ) Settings -> IDE Settings -> Editors -> Color and Fonts -> Console Colors. Nothing worked

Does anyone have an idea?

This probably happened because you configured the colors of cmd.exe by default. Resetting them back to the default white text on a black background fixed it for me and in Idea too.

For immediate effect, you can try using the color 07 command in the terminal to set white text to black.

For me, resetting cmd-prompt to default colors did not work in IntelliJ 15. It still had old cmd-prompt colors since IntelliJ was installed.

In this case, you can go to File β†’ Settings β†’ Tools β†’ Terminal and enter "cmd.exe / T: 07" as the Shell path option. This will launch the terminal and reset the color to the default black background and white font.

BTW: this way you can save your favorite color settings in the cmd command line.

None of the above worked for me. What worked (in settings β†’ Tools β†’ Terminal β†’ Shell Path):

 "cmd.exe" /k color 07

You can set the global highlight color in: IDE Settings β†’ Editor β†’ Color and Fonts β†’ General β†’ Background Selection. This also applies to the terminal I just tried.
