BRISK and FREAK descriptors in MATLAB

Question

I am using MATLAB 2014a to retrieve BRISK and FREAK descriptors. I could not find any way to reduce the size of the bit string to 128 or 256 , both of them were generated as 512 . I think FREAK does not allow this according to the algorithm, but BRISK should allow it. Does anyone know if I can reduce the size of the BRISK descriptor? If so, how can I?

Unfortunately, the current MATLAB implementation only computes a 512-bit BRISK descriptor.
