AngularJS ng-src and absolute url

I am currently launching a gallery app using ng-src to read in urls. I get the image URL of another website, and I was wondering if ng-src would be able to get an absolute URL like http://thiswebsite.com/image/1

Currently it only routes relatively, so I get http://mywebsite.com/http://thiswebsite.com/image/1
