How can I remove Xampp on Mac OS?

I used Xampp and uninstalled it. Then I tried to use Mampa. An error that I do not understand. Mamp works perfectly as a web server. But if I want to use phpmyadmin, this will not work.

For example, I am inserting something into a database. It does not appear in phpmyadmin. It saves the old Xampp database, although I deleted Xampp. How does this happen?

How can I remove Xampp permanently (using mysql) on Mac OS?

XAMPP 5.x:

You can find uninstall.app in /Applications/XAMPP .

uninstall.app

After running this program, you can use this command to delete all XAMPP cache files: sudo rm -rf /Applications/XAMPP

XAMPP 7.x:

  • Open Mac OS Finder and go to the /Applications folder. There you will find the XAMPP icon (for example, XAMPP.app), right-click it and select "Move to Trash."

  • In addition to this, you can delete the ~ / .bitnami folder in your home directory.

the newer version of XAMPP includes applications for removal, you can find them in the XAMPP folder in the application directory. But they leave an empty XAMPP folder.

I think that just putting the application (in the Applications folder) is enough. But you can try to find some XAMPP scavengers.

Open your terminal, sudo and find something containing XAMPP:

 sudo -s [ Type your password ] find / | grep -i xampp

This may take some time if you do not have fast hdd. This will display all files / folder containing XAMPP in their name.

  • Open Spotlight and find XAMPP,

To open Spotlight, click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the menu bar or press Command-Space from any application.

  1. Some folders should be displayed. Check the XAMPP folder (in upper case) and open it.

  2. The uninstall program should be installed in the XAMPP folder, click on it and follow the instructions.

  3. For complete removal Go to Macintosh HD and delete the / Aplications / XAMPP folder (be careful with the application files).

I did it right now and it works.

To uninstall XAMPP-VM, follow these steps: Delete the XAMPP-VM icon from the Applications folder. Remove all XAMPP-VM data by deleting the ~/.bitnami folder within your home directory on the OS X host.

Easy, open the application folder. Click and hold the XAMPP icon. Drag the icon to the trash. Empty the trash (just hold Ctrl and click "Empty Trash").
