Spring dependency problem - no suitable editors or conversion strategies found

I have a web application that does not work during deployment. I get the following error:

I am loading the XML configuration in web.xml using:

I'm new to spring, but I think this has to do with bean dependency configuration.

1. What is the spring bean dependency sequence? Does it use the XML configuration sequence from web.xml?
2. Suppose I refer to bean A in the XML file that is defined below, where it refers, will it create any problem?

The error gives useful elements. The reason (last error in the chain) is (string line):

Error creating bean named 'ldapContact' ... Failed to convert property value of type '$ Proxy213 that implements ... LdapOperations ...' to the required type '.... LdapTemplate' for property 'ldapTemplate'

You did not show the source of LdapUtil , but from the CustomSuccessHandler and the error, I assume that it contains somewhere:

 @Autowired LdapTemplate ldapTemplate;

The error indicates that there is an AOP proxy mechanism around the ldapTemplate bean.

This is not a problem, except that by default Spring AOP uses JDK proxies, and the proxy implements all interfaces, but does not extend the original class. You must resolve the error by specifying ldapTemplate through the interface:

 @Autowired LdapOperations ldapTemplate;

Alternatively, you can ask Spring to use cglib proxies that extend the source class using <aop:config proxy-target-class = "true"> in the xml file (or <aop:aspectj-autoproxy proxy-target-class="true"/> if you use annotations). But this requires cglib jars to be on the way, and since you can use interfaces, I advise you to use the first solution.

EDIT:

Your edited post shows how you load ldapTemplate into LdapUtil . You load it as a class when you should use the interface this way:
