Configuring a Single Zookeeper Instance and Binding Failure

Question

I am trying to configure one instance of zookeeper using the configuration below, however the startup log indicates that zookeeper is stopping while trying to bind port 2181. Can someone please let me know this problem here. Thanks.

I suggest you remove the following line from the configuration file

 server.1=localhost:2888:3888 

and then restart the server.

On CentOS, you can edit the following file and add a line for _JAVA_OPTIONS

 sudo vim /etc/default/zookeeper 

export _JAVA_OPTIONS = "-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack = true"

Then restart the process

 sudo service zookeeper-server restart

I would like to mention that when you receive the following registration message, it means that the server is really running.

 INFO [main: NIOServerCnxnFactory@94 ] - binding to port 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0:2181 

Also the ERROR message that you see if you have one zookeeper instance as shown below is actually a warning, not an error.

Try adding this to zoo.cfg quorumListenOnAllIPs=true

You are using zookeeper on windows 64 bit. I had the same problem, but then it turned out that Win64 is not supported. See Zookeeper Link http://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.4.5/zookeeperAdmin.html#sc_supportedPlatforms
