Is there a website that returns 500 (and other) HTTP responses for testing?

It occurred to me that it would be useful to have a URL that will always return 500 to check for a client code that handles bad responses. And I can think of other projects that could benefit from URLs that will always return 404s, redirect, etc. Does anyone know of a free website that offers this?

If you cannot easily change the path, but you can easily configure the host: http://218.returnco.de/whatever and http://returnco.de:218/whatever
