Complies with the Linux file hierarchy standard: where to place binary examples for the library?

I am creating a debian package for a library and would like to install binary samples. I thought of putting them under /usr/share/libname , but lintian complains (arch-dependent-file-in-usr-share). FHS is correct, but where can I put these files?

This is actually not true under the FHS; /usr/share quite explicitly referred to as "architecture-independent data." /usr/lib is a form-dependent equivalent, and perhaps you want ( /usr/lib/libname ).

See http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3.html#USRLIBLIBRARIESFORPROGRAMMINGANDPA for details.
