Install Perforce MaxResults from the command line

I get cryptic error messages from the perforce server. I check out Depot.

p4 sync Request too large (over 3000000); see 'p4 help maxresults'.

I understand the problem, but p4 maximum results is a zero content man page. Because this in no way allows me to indicate how I can set this limit on the client.

 export MaxResults=3000000

Is there any way to check Depot?

In general, you cannot redefine maximum results; it was installed this way for some reason by your administrator. Here's the documentation: http://www.perforce.com/perforce/doc.current/manuals/p4sag/chapter.performance.html#d0e20714

Do you really need to sync more than 3 million files? If so, you may need to ask your administrator to add you to a user group with a higher resource limit.

Alternatively, you can reduce the amount of workspace by specifying a more accurate view of the view in the definition of the workspace. Instead

 //depot/... //my-client/...

set the display of the workspace view to something more:

 //depot/main/my-project/... //my-client/main/my-project/...

Thus, you only synchronize the part of the repository that is really necessary for your project.
