How to debug maven project in Eclipse?

I am trying to debug the following maven project in Eclipse: https://code.google.com/p/cloudscale/

I followed the instructions of RickHigh (found here https://stackoverflow.com/a/13739/ ... ) and when I write mvnDebug exec: exec in the terminal line

Preparing to Execute Maven in Debug Mode Listening for transport dt_socket at address: 8000

appears and after starting a remote Java application in Eclipse the project starts, but it does not hold breakpoints ...

Any ideas what could go wrong?

When you install the m2e plugin in Eclipse, it will show you a link in the Console view to automatically connect the debugger (i.e., launch the remote configuration debugger) to your process when it spills the message "Listening to dt_socket message at address: 8000" to the console. Thus, your debugger is basically in one click.

The debugger may be connected to the wrong JVM, and not to the created exec:exec . Try remote debugging like here: fooobar.com/questions/412106 / ...
