Outlook 2013 freezes for AGES under "Profile Download" - Win 7 64bit

Attempting to migrate email address (and data) from an old XP machine with Outlook 2003.

The new computer is running Windows 7 64bit (activated) and Office 2013 (activated).

It booted up normally, got activated and set my email settings, and this is where the problem started. After that, I can only go to Outlook in safe mode (Run> outlook.exe / safe).

I included the data file in the settings and made it specify incoming emails there, and everything works as expected in SAFE MODE, so I can probably assume that this is not a connection or email settings. But this is only an assumption.

When you try to download Outlook, it hangs for a while over the "Download Profile". In the end, he passes, but for too long.

Used to download almost instantly to an old machine.

What I was trying to solve the problem:

  • Restore the car from scratch.
  • Run the recovery tool in the data file.
  • Compressed data file.
  • Archived old material into a new data file.
  • Loaded in safe mode and disabled all add-ons.
  • Tried to create a new profile and added email data to this.

EDIT: A hang also appears when you try to reply / create a new message.

None of this worked out. I am open to any suggestions ...

EDIT: Oh, and machine specifications if that helps.

Processor: Intel Core i3-3240 @ 3.4 GHz

Memory: 4.00 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE / 7200 GS

EDIT: Adding to the secret. Using an RDP connection with the machine works. The program loads and reacts as you expected. Also, if I CTRL + ALT + DEL when it is HANGING and then cancels the return from this menu, it will inject itself into life until I do something else that would make it hang.

EDIT: Apparently disabling Windows Aero fixes it ...

The same thing happened after I tried to add a new email profile that was dancing at me, so I stopped it prematurely. Went to the control panel -> mail -> email accounts, and then deleted the bad email account.

A recent update to Microsoft Office 2013, which is automatically superseded by clients, leads to the fact that some of them cannot open Outlook 2013. Instead of normal operation, the program will hang at the "Download Profile" download stage, as if the profile is corrupted (if you have not already checked , in fact, this can happen, and not vice versa). The workaround is to open Outlook using the well-known / secure command line key; but this is just a workaround (which, in turn, disables all add-ons), not a permanent solution.

For a much more reasonable resolution, try this instead: 1.Run regedit (Start> Run> type regedit and press ENTER) A.On Windows 8, Win + R; type regedit and press enter

2. Find in HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 15.0 \ Common 3. Right-click, select New> Key, and name it Graphics. 4. Select the graphic key that you just created, right-click on the right panel and choose New> DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it DisableHardwareAcceleration. 5. Double-click the new value and set it to 1. 6. Close regedit and try opening Outlook again.

This should solve the problem.

The problem I encountered the last two days looked the same as yours, but it didn't have Aero. Outlook did not respond, took 10-15 minutes to start and started working normally in safe mode. In addition, services (.msc) took a lot of time.

Event Viewer showed: taskhost (3320) WebCacheLocal: Fout -1032 (0xfffffbf8) is opgetreden tijdens het openen van logboekbestand C: \ Users \ mike \ AppData \ Local \ Microsoft \ Windows \ WebCache \ V01.log.

After temporarily destroying the taskhost processes (because it used V01.log) and freeing the web cache folder, Outlook began to behave as it should, and my MMC / services took only 0.5 seconds.

Hello,

Mike

Exchange caching mode will make it very slow. If you go to your account settings and disable the "Use Chached Exchange Mode" window in offline settings, it should load much faster.
