There seem to be two additional calls made by the link to the browser:
- a one-way call made when the page is rendered at the same port as the site exchanging mapping information between Razor views and elements. This call has
__browserlink at the beginning of the URL. - periodic call as part of SignalR synchronization. This has a
SignalR about 30 characters per URL.
The first, only call I can live with. Another fills my capture story.
To avoid this, in fiddler, I used the option “Hide the following hosts” in the “Filter” tab and placed something like localhost:62533 in the text box. Note that the port number seems to change every time VS2013 is restarted.
While the “Use Filters” checkbox is checked, I still see the traffic I want (plus a one-time call for __browserlink ).
