GD Image overlay transparent png

Question

I have a transparent image that I want to overlay on top of the whole image to give it a border effect. In this code, it processes an existing image. It combines the two, but the last above the top does not show alpha. How can i fix this?

Do not use imagecopymerge, use imagecopy, then it will work fine and your watermark will be shown with alpha.

 imagecopy($dst_image, $src, 0, 0, 0, 0, 469, 296);

If you use imagecopy instead of imagecopymerge, you will lose control of the alpha channel.

I think you could use Jaguar if you need a really fast overlay using the Gd extension.
