Shree will not connect after updating Windows 8.1

I use Shrew for my VPN connection in Windows 8.0, but it stopped working properly after my upgrade to Windows 8.1. It connects to VPN ok, but I can’t access anything on the network. After several attempts, it turns off. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling without any changes.

Which version are you using?

When 8.1 was clicked on me, my copy of Shrew 2.2.2 Professional completely stopped connecting with the message “disconnect the tunnel” (there were 3 messages, this is the only thing I can remember). He also shut down my virtual machine.

To fix, I deleted my virtual machines (VirtualBox, etc.), rebooted, reinstalled Shrew, rebooted, and then re-enabled the virtual machines. Now everything is working correctly.

I saw the same Shrew behavior on my machine; removal, reinstallation, manual removal of drivers and settings, etc. did not help.

As described here , I am using TheGreenBow VPN Client now as an alternative that works fine under Win 8.1.
