Removing interface elements from an xib file

I added some elements, for example, a "round rectangular button" in Interface Builder, to my .xib file, but I can’t delete them.

If I just press "x", it disappears, but it is not removed from the interface. How to remove it?

Select the items as shown below and press the delete key.
