What is the difference between face recognition and face recognition in iOS

It may sound silly, but I'm really interested to know what is the difference between Face Detection and Face Detection in the iOS perspective? And in what case or in what situation should I use two of them. I am new to iOS and have never encountered previous experience with iOS Face Detection / Recognition. I am going to make an application where I have to detect a user face (using the camera, and not after shooting) with a collection of database images. Please give you an answer, if any, and please do not misunderstand me. O :)

-It means a lot of advanced.

iOS has face detection but does not recognize faces. He can tell you where the faces are in the image, but he cannot tell you who they are.

If you want to use face detection, start with AVMetadataFaceObject or a tutorial such as this one .

Generally:

Face Detection: Detect a face in the image. He seeks a common human face as a segment in the whole image. The output may be one or more. The output will be a rectangle or rectangles on the faces in the image. [Paul viola method]

Face Recognition: Recognize the input face from an already prepared database with the highest conformance score. The input must be one person, and the output will be the name, class name, or unknown person. [PCA, LDA]
