How do you join split editor panels in eclipse

Question

In Eclipse with Window -> New Editor or drag & drop * I can have another editor window in the eclipse workspace. Now how to remove this additional panel when I no longer need it. Now all this allows me to minimize / maximize this additional editor panel. He just holds on. There should be no crash or closure of additional editor panels (that is, without me Window → Reset Perspective is required!)

HandySplit has the smoothed action you need and other features that may come in handy.

Right-click the tab in the window that you want to close and select "close all." This will close the split window (and close all tabs in this window that have not been dragged to another window).
