Only some glyphics showing in IE

My colleague and I tried to solve this problem for a while, and we cannot make it work. I hope someone there is smarter than us and has a good contribution to this.

When using IE8, IE9 or IE10 to visit the websites http://glyphicons.com/ or http://getbootstrap.com/components/ not all glyphics show (some show, but others just show as boxes []).

Everything is displayed in Chrome.

EDIT: I have to add that this happens on computers in our company network. Could there be a setting here that prevents us from showing all the glyphics?

EDIT2: I now have a suspicion that our group policy disables XMLHTTP for all users on the network. So is it possible to encode a halfling font and use it directly in CSS?

I have found a solution. It was pretty simple. Unfortunately, I will not be able to use the glyphicon.

IE has a setting to limit font downloads. This is enabled by Group Policy and cannot be changed on standard workstations. I was able to recreate the same behavior on my own laptop, limiting the font load.

To answer your olahell comment, if you count the badges, you get 470 badges, although you write 420 with IE8. Perhaps this is an old forgotten image, shown only in the old version of IE.

Glyphicons seems to be taking some snapshots for the browser to come up with the 470/420 icon badge. The most likely reason for this is that 50 icons do not work in IE; and this is probably due to the fact that IE does not have SVG support.
