How can I restore the .NET Framework 4.0 on Windows 8?

While trying to debug my real problem, I try to restore the .NET framework because it looks like something in System.Data.SqlClient. But you cannot remove this because it is part of the OS in Windows8, and you cannot install it because it is already installed, and therefore I cannot find a way to fix my problem. I suppose I can reinstall the entire OS, but it is too painful.

To repair damaged Windows files in Windows 8, open a command prompt with administrator rights and run this DISM command :

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

It downloads clean files and installs them correctly.
