Delphi XE / Windows7: why do VCL controls look different in an MDI application?

Delphi XE / Windows 7.

Create a new VCL application, put TCombobox on your form.

Create a new MDI application, do the same.

Why do the controls look different and how can I solve it?

Other controls behave the same. The same thing happens when I put controls in my mdi child forms in an MDI application.

The MDI application template is disabled in XE (and earlier). Just enable it in the project settings to eliminate the difference.

This parameter in the MDI application template has been changed in XE2.
