Weird back (Alt-Left) behavior in Eclipse

Not really a programming question, but I decided that I get more answer here than in SU. Added tag 'java' because I am programming in Java. Feel free to edit / move the question as needed.

I use the Eclipse Kepler IDE and I get this annoying weird behavior from the Back function. I canโ€™t remember whether this behavior was in the Juno version, but I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m here to confirm this if this is a mistake, or I need to configure some settings in Eclipse.

Imagine the following codes:

  • Point a
  • Point B
  • Point C

When my editing cursor is at point A and I hit F3 (Open Declaration), Eclipse will transfer me to B. If I delete F3 again, Eclipse will transfer me to C.

All thatโ€™s good, but when I press the Back button or press Alt + Left with C, they will return me to A. If I then delete Forward ( Alt + Right ), they took me to B and the Forward button is disabled! (I can't go to C).

Current Behavior: F3: A -> B -> C Back: C ------> A Forward: A -> B

This does not seem right, because I expect that I will return from C, I have to reach B, and then to A. After that, going from A, I have to go to B and then to C.

 Expected Behavior: F3: A -> B -> C Back: C -> B -> A Forward: A -> B -> C

Refresh your eclipse. They fixed this error in recent days. :-)

Seeing this, it also seems to be new to Kepler, and is also present in Luna lines

It seems that the guys from eclipse are already working on this.

I think this has already been fixed, see

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=417001

A fix is โ€‹โ€‹also available in Kepler SR1.
