Issue with publishing on iOS App Store - icon size?

After sending the update, I received the following message.

If your application supports the iPhone family of devices, you should include square icons in the following sizes: 57x57 pixels and 120x120 pixels.

Why is 120x120? The retina resolution is 114x114, which I have. Is it because of iOS 7? iOS 7 is not yet released.

The iOS 7 iPhone Retina icon looks like it will be 120px by 120px.

iOS 7 iPhone:

Standard: 60px x 60px Retina: 120px x 120px

iOS 7 iPad:

 Standard: 76px x 76px Retina: 152px x 152px

It seems like Apple decided to start applying the requirements a little earlier, which does not surprise me at all.

The same problem arose here, but I did not have the opportunity to continue. This gives me a red dot and an "Invalid Binary". However, I managed to fix this problem after 1 day of trial and error.

Decision:

Rename the icon files so that they do not contain the @ 2x suffix!

Before:

 icon.png icon@2x.png icon~iPad.png icon~iPad@2x.png

Now:

 icon.png icon_iphone4.png icon_ipad.png icon_ipad3.png

I also added the key "CFBundleIcons" to the Info.plist file and added the array "CFBundleIconFiles" under the main icon.

I do not think there are necessary adjustments for the standard size, but there are adjustments necessary for the retina. This is a direct screenshot from Xcode 5.

This is a fake because you are right, iOS7 did not come out, so they should not force you. I sent my application during the main recording without any problems, but quickly made the conversion and actually redirected now for iOS 7. It is strange that you received this message, but I did not.

iOS 7 has not yet been announced, but it’s reasonable for Apple to start applying future requirements as early as possible. You will notice that applications with a 57x57 or 114x114 icon will sometimes not display completely correctly on an iOS 7 device.

By introducing new guidelines at an early stage - given that we need to get GM urgently - ensures that many of these issues are resolved.

I think you should not use the beta version of Xcode to send your applications, but stay on your old non-beta version of Xcode to send your applications!

Here I had no problems regarding the old @ 2x suffix and size.
