Disable Stay on Top features in Photoshop CS2

Photoshop CS2 always stays on top, even when I click another application on the Windows taskbar (to the right of the start button). It completely annoyed me. You always need to minimize it, click another application, open it again in Photoshop, replay it.

I only have 1 screen at work, so I can’t allow Photoshop on one screen and work with another application on another screen.

I look at the entire menu of Photoshop, I find nothing

I ran into a problem, and finding the adobe page explains that this problem is a "feature".

I want photoshop cs2 to work with all other applications on the windows and lose focus so that the new application appears on top.

Thanks.

I had this problem and somehow solved it. But my decision may be as volatile as why the problem arises in the first place. But here is what I did:

  • In the Layers Palette (F7), I clicked the small arrow just below the closing β€œX” button on the right. Then I selected "Palette Options"
  • I did not change any parameters, but just clicked OK.
  • Now the whole window remains on top, not just the palette. So I restarted Photoshop and seems to have solved the problem.

I found that if you open "edit> preferences> Memory and Image Cache" and configure the memory usage, this will fix it. I am on Windows 10.

Try the uppermost switch . Works on window 7, window 8, and even with Windows 8.1. I use it to disable Photoshop CS2 and Firefox errors. It works like a charm, and it's pretty easy to use:

  • Download and extract Topmost Toggle
  • Run the program - you will see that it collapses into the tray
  • Ctr + Right click in your program and click
  • Enjoy it!

I have the same problem with CS2 on the 64-bit version of Windows 7. To get around, I click the tab on the keyboard when the photoshop window is active, which makes all pallets invisible, then I can switch to any window I need to work in.

According to this article, there seems to be a problem with updating Microsoft https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2142314
