Alternative mobility alternative

I follow the tutorial found here:

however, when it comes to adding an iPhone, such as a date / time scroll wheel, the proposed "mobiscroll" has a hefty license fee.

I was hoping someone would have a new openource alternative that would offer similar functionality.

this is primarily for aesthetics, as this date / time selection is intended for access mainly to mobile devices.

The mobiscroll core is open source, according to their frequently asked questions page . Looking at their code, it looks pretty complete.
