Sublime Text 2 - Change Icon in Windows

As the name says, how do you change the default Sublime Text 2 icon on Windows (7 or 8)?

I searched everywhere. I found a Jeffrey Way post on Nettuts explaining how to change it on a Mac, and it was as simple as putting the "nameoftheicon.icns" file somewhere in the default folder.

Now I have two problems:

1) I cannot find the folder where the icns file should be placed 2) on Git (or somewhere else) when I find the icon painting repo what to do to change it, even on a Mac, is much longer than Jeff's message

I want the Windows folder to be listed in this post, but it is not (as you know, it works on Mac).

So basically , what is the fastest way to change the icon, perhaps just by putting icns files somewhere and avoiding loading external software (as some git repos suggest)?

It is impossible to change the icon on Windows without editing the sublime_text.exe file or one of the libraries with an external program. This is just one of the many differences between Windows and Mac. .icns files are specific to the Mac platform and do not exist in versions of Windows Sublime Text.

There is no easy / fast method to change the application icon after compiling it, but you can use a tool like Resource Tuner to change the resources built into it.

It is worth noting that if you use Resource Tuner, it only supports 32-bit binaries, which means that you will need to change the 32-bit version of Sublime. You can configure the four icons defined there (16,32,48 256), you will need to create your own ICO files for each 32-bit resource, import them using the resource tuner, and then save our .exe

The modified 32-bit version of the .exe and .ico resources is here: https://copy.com/S7kKk6rh2Q3P12iu (nothing harmful is used at your own risk)
