Running Maven Webdriver Testng test on Jenkins, unidentifiable error

Question

Having written some Java tests using the Eclipse IDE, we want them to run automatically after deployment. I went so far as to simply configure Maven to work with Jenkins, but there are still problems. Here is one of them: I'm trying to run the mute text (xvfb, firefox) ion jenkins, but here is the output: (I can’t even determine what the problem is here)

If you look at exception tracing, you are missing some classes as you get a ClassNotFoundException and therefore an InvocationTargetException . There are a few things you can try if you have not already done so.

• Update your maven
• Configure Jenkins to use the correct Maven installation

This error appears to be covered by this error: JENKINS-15935 . It was fixed in version 1.526 of Jenkins, and according to the change, the fix does not seem to have reached the LTS releases (since version 1.509.3).

When I ran into this error, I just switched to Maven 3.0.5, which fixed this problem for me. I will give Maven 3.1 another shot as soon as I have time to update our Jenkins installations.
