JQplot shortcuts cut off in IE 8

Has anyone seen this before? http://i.stack.imgur.com/kncuH.png

It shortens the text of the labels. You can see it below and some of them along the y axis. I am using jqplot version 1.0.8 and jQuery for 1.9.1.

I tried changing the font size and label width. But that does not help. I have a suspicious suspicion associated with rotating text.

("Error" is present only in Internet Explorer 8 and below.)

I had the same problems and solved this by updating excanvas to the latest version. I used the latest version of excanvas from the explorercanvas repository: https://explorercanvas.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/excanvas.js

edit: problem $ .jqplot.CanvasAxisTickRenderer. If you do not use it, it will work. lg blue
