Problem Displaying Japanese Characters in Eclipse

My Ecliplse IDE displays unnecessary characters instead of the correct Japanese characters ...

I tried many strategies, my encoding is set to UTF-8 ... but still no result.

The xml file can be saved as SJIS (MS932).

  • Open the eclipse.ini configuration file in the eclipse home folder
  • Add new parameter -Dfile.encoding = SJIS
  • Close and open the eclipse.

  • Open this file in the Workspace directory: <your_workspace_dir>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\org.eclipse.ui.ide.prefs

  • Add this line to this file: IDE_ENCODINGS_PREFERENCE=EUC-JP'Shift_JIS'

  • Restart Eclipse
  • Open the setting: Window> Preferences> General> Workspace> Encoding Text File. In Other: select "EUC-JP" from the drop-down menu.

  • Ok โ†’ reopen this file;
