Why is applicationIconBadgeNumber not removed using binding? Where is it actually stored?

I uninstalled my application from the iPad. And try to resume work again. But now it shows the old applicationIconBadgeNumber on first launch. Anyone knows where this value is stored and why it is not deleted using the application. How can we handle this scenario.
