Jenkins Email Configuration - The test email configuration completed successfully, but the email address was not received by the user

I am using Jenkins v1.521 on a Windows 2008 R2 server. I need to enable email notifications for assemblies. I also installed the ext email plugin.

I configured the SMTP server data in the "System Setup" section in Jenkins. I tried sending a test email from Jenkins using the Test Configuration option, which provides my email address, and I get a message saying "Email was sent successfully," but I don't seem to receive the email.

I also tried making telnet for the SMTP server directly on the server hosting Jenkins, and sent the email manually and it worked. I have received an email.

I wonder why the mail sending part does not work through Jenkins?

Can someone please provide me suggestions for fixing this problem?

For this to work, you must enter a valid email in the "System Administrator Email Address" field. This field is on one page, but is in a different section above. Without this, I also received a message stating that the letter was sent successfully, but I never received it. As soon as I installed it, test emails began to be received correctly.
