Zurb Foundation: the layout does not respond to the iPhone

Question

I'm trying to get Foundation to be responsive in my iPhone browsers. I tried Safari and Chrome on my phone, and both of them display a desktop layout.

On the desktop, however, if I squeeze the browser window, I see a response to the layout.

I even tried to add one of the Zurb sample templates and still didn't work.
